Overview
Weavy AI is a node-based creative workflow platform for AI-powered image and video generation, aimed at professional designers, cinematographers, VFX artists, and marketing teams who need more control than a single prompt box provides. Rather than generating one output per prompt, users build a visual canvas of connected nodes — each performing one step (generation, inpainting, upscaling, relighting, compositing, and more) — chaining multiple third-party AI models (Flux, Ideogram, Runway, Google, Bytedance, Luma, Stability AI, OpenAI, and others) into reusable, shareable "design engine" pipelines. It was acquired by Figma for a reported $200 million in October 2025 and is being integrated into the Figma ecosystem under the name "Figma Weave," with the standalone weavy.ai product continuing to operate during the migration. Runs entirely in-browser with no local install or GPU management required; SOC 2 Type II certified with a stated policy against training on user content.
✅ Benefits
  • The node-based, multi-model architecture gives far more granular control and reusability than single-prompt generators — output from one step feeds cleanly into the next, and workflows can be saved, shared, and rerun rather than starting from scratch each time
  • Model-agnostic design means it can add new AI models (as they're released) as new node types without users needing to switch platforms, avoiding lock-in to any single generation engine's strengths or weaknesses
⚠️ Drawbacks
  • As an orchestration layer over third-party models, output quality is only as good as the underlying models it's calling — any limitation in a given model (Flux, Runway, etc.) carries directly into the workflow
  • The product is mid-acquisition and rebranding (transitioning from standalone Weavy to "Figma Weave"), creating uncertainty about the long-term roadmap, pricing, and whether standalone access will continue post-migration
